Engadget is reporting that HTC EVO 4G owners may be getting Android Deuce Deuce as soon as this weekend. The blog received a whole heap of Sprint corporate slides that detail a launch plan; the plan includes an official announcement scheduled for tomorrow and code rollout beginning on August 1st. The slides also detail tons of improvements made to the phone’s software, some of which include: improved 720p video recording, Flash 10.1...

The ZTE Peel 3200, a Sprint-branded sleeve with mobile hotspot functionality and EV-DO connectivity, was spotted at the FCC. The curious device sports a sleeve-style form factor that appears to be ideally suited for the iPod Touch. Details are sparse on the device but it is clearly a mobile hotspot with integrated GPS and support for up to 5 Wi-Fi-enabled devices. Any Sprint users out there who would consider using this with VoIP as an alternative...

It may be America’s first 4G smartphone, but if we had to guess, we’d surmise that not everyone sees it as perfect. Even if we ( almost ) did. HTC’s EVO 4G was (and still is) a showstopper of epic proportions, boasting one of the largest screens in the smartphone universe and offering blistering speed under the hood. But with phone innovation happening faster than anyone could’ve ever imagined just a few years ago, we’re...

Looks like Verizon’s about to take its mobile data game worldwide — we just got this snap of the “FiveSpot,” a “global ready” mobile WiFi hotspot . That certainly sounds like a hybrid CDMA / UMTS mobile hotspot to us, which makes sense — Verizon already sells a bunch of world phones with dual CDMA and GSM radios, so a globetrotting riff on the MiFi fits right…  Read More →

Always on the lookout for the latest Verizon featurephone? Samsung and Verizon are gearing up to launch a new one on July 29th. The Samsung Haven features no camera, so it is aimed at the business/corporate crowd, three programable emergency contact buttons, voice dialing, and, not too much else. Oh, we forgot. To completely push you over the edge, the Samsung Haven has something called “speakerphone” as well. We’d be shocked...

We’ve heard that starting tomorrow, the Microsoft KIN 1 and KIN 2 will be selling for free and $49 respectively. Two year agreements are required, but without that data feature price drop, this won’t matter much.  Read More →

As we are hearing rumors of a possible iPhone coming to Verizon Wireless later this year, if what we are hearing today is also true, the iPhone may not be the only hot Apple gadget that could make its way to the mobile phone carrier. According to an insider as reported by Boy Genius Report (BGR),  Read More →

We’ve known for some time that Cox — a name traditionally associated with cable television — is on the cusp of turning over its trial CDMA networks in a handful of markets to the public as it marches towards LTE on a swath of 700MHz bandwidth , but what we don’t know is the kind of hardware selection we can expect once these guys go live. Take it for what you will, but it …  Read More →

It seems as though this image was sent to every blog on the internet, so we though…why not throw our watermark on it too? It looks like the HTC EVO 4G — exclusively available from Sprint — will be available for pre-order later this month from everyone’s favorite electronics vendor…The Shack? At its CTIA launch the EVO was scheduled for a &#  Read More →

The BlackBerry Tour Bold 9650 has received its ceremonial blessing from the FCC according to documents available via the government agency’s website. The newly approved handset is scheduled for a May 23rd release on U.S. wireless provider Sprint and — hopefully — on Verizon shortly thereafter. For those who need a little refresher, the 9650’s stat sheet flows like this: CDMA EV-DO world phone with support for HSPA and...

It’s not exactly the biggest shocker, but Sprint has lowered the contract price of the Palm Pixi to $0. To get this deal you’ll need to order the phone online as the extra $149.99 in savings are through a web special. You can try your luck at physical Sprint dealerships, but there are no guarantees they’ll do a price match. Having said that, we don’t think it’d be too hard to talk a Sprint rep into letting you have...
