Discovery, Sony and IMAX announce plans for round the clock 3D television network
Discovery Communications, Sony Corporation and IMAX Corporation, a trio of entertainment powerhouses, are teaming up to deliver the first dedicated 3D television network in the US. The network will feature 24/7 programming from Discovery, Sony Pictures Entertainment, IMAX and other third party 3D content creators with a focus on genres that look stunning in 3D. These include natural history, space, exploration, adventure, engineering, science and technology, motion pictures and nightmare-inducing children’s programming. The joint venture is still in the preliminary stages with each company having signed a non-binding Letter of Intent.
