To transmit signals to and from the PS3 by way of this handy handheld. A 1.2GHz wireless transmitter is used to get the controller commands to the PS3, and the same is used in reverse to get the video signals from the console to the homegrown device. The device itself utilizes a 5-inch LCD, 4,500mAh Li-ion battery (complete with a LED capacity meter), an AV input, headphone jack, USB port and a button for every last DualShock command. Hop on past the break for a video, and head to the source if you’re interested in making an offer for it. Yeah, …

Sony dives into wireless power game, makes it way more interesting
We’ve been watching wireless power startups spin their wheels for years on end, and while we’ve netted a few contact-charging solutions along the way, there’s still a dire need for bona fide wireless power. A most unlikely candidate has just shown up to deliver that very need, with Sony’s wireless power supply system reportedly...

Splitterbot Headphone Sharing Robot
You already know I’m a sucker for robot gear , and this useful little guy is no exception. The Splitterbot Headphone Sharing Robot ($8) doubles as a keychain, so I can carry it with me all the time. Just pop his head off (!) and plug the splitter into any headphone jack. The robot’s eyes double as dual headphone jacks. What do you...

[CES 2010] Case-Mate iPhone Wireless Charging Pad & Case
By Andrew Liszewski I wouldn’t necessarily say that charging my iPhone with the included sync cable is inconvenient, but I can definitely see the advantage of being able to just drop it on a table to top off the battery. And the Hug from Case-Mate uses Fulton Innovation’s eCoupled Wireless Power system to enable you to do just that....

Rii Mini Wireless Keyboard
By Andrew Liszewski Last year we had a brief hands-on with Unisen’s wireless compact keyboard & touchpad device, and while it’s served its purpose well, we’ve already got the hankering to upgrade to this little beauty from Brando. The Rii mini wireless keyboard looks like a display-less cellphone, but it’s designed...
Review: Xbox 360 Wireless N Networking Adapter
There’s no getting around it: Microsoft’s original Xbox 360 wireless adapter was a colossal piece of crap and a complete waste of money. It was extremely expensive at $100, and on the off occasion it would actually hold a connection it was unreliable. Instability led to terrible latency issues that hindered high-def streaming and made...

Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 speakers go semi-wireless, still awesome
We love Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 computer speakers, and we were wondering why the THX-certified powered speakers have been scarce lately. Here’s the answer: they’re going wireless. They still deliver that kick-ass sound, and at $199, only cost about 50 bucks more than the wired version. Plug your USB wireless transmitter into your Mac...

DoomBOX Handheld Gaming Rig Uses Keyboard Keys
By Andrew Liszewski So what do you do with a Kodak DC290 digital camera with a broken lens? Throw it out? Of course not! Since the camera is already running the Digita OS, which has a wide variety of apps and games ported to it (including MAME) you do what JJ Dasher did and turn it into a portable gaming rig that exclusively runs Doom . Of course...

LEDs Could Transmit Future Broadband Signals
The light from the lamps in your house could carry a wireless signal that could power internet connectivity at home, say a group of German researchers who say they have found a way to encode the signals into visible frequency. Though it would provide much lower speeds than Wi-Fi signals, it can offer less interference and is likely to offer great...

Sony files patent for universal console controller with virtual interface
Sony could one day have one controller to rule them all, if this patent is any indication. The electronics giant has filed a patent for something it may or may not one day produce: a video game console controller which uses an LCD interface to simulate buttons, rather than relying on a physical, static configuration. It appears that there would...
